FC Platinum gets down to business
By Sports Reporter
Reigning
Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions, FC Platinum have resumed their
preparations ahead of their Confederations Cup campaign scheduled to start on
February 14.
Recently
the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) gave a green light for the resumption of training
to a couple of teams that are scheduled to participate at different stages and
the Zvishavane based side is among those.
The
three-time PSL kings have wasted no time to resume training after the temporary
waiver, as they seek to change their fortunes in the new Confederations Cup
journey.
In
a recent interview with the Chronicle, FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo
said they will follow all set conditions and measures put in place.
“Yes
we have been cleared to start training and conditions are still the same,
bubble concept, testing before and after or in the event of external travel,”
said Chizondo.
Pure
Platinum Play as the Zvishavane giants are affectionately known by their legion
of fans will play ASC Jaraaf in their opening encounter at home as they seek to
heal wounds inflicted by their dramatic failure to qualify for the second round
of the CAF Champions early this month.
The side has also bolstered their squad a few days ago with new additions, a
reunion with Donald Ngoma and former Dynamos defender, Blessing Moyo who recently
put pen to paper.
FC Platinum was knocked out of the CAF Champions league by Tanzanian giants Simba SC in a match which was full of controversy and allegations of cheating which were leveled against the home side.
