Delta announces sponsorship package for PSL

Premier Soccer League (PSL) which has been castigated for delaying the return of local league has received a major boost from Delta Beverages who have announced a four-year sponsorship package for PSL competitions.

Fans who had lost faith in the capabilities of PSL to secure a sponsor after numerous postponements of resumption of action will breathe a sigh of relief since there is light at the end of the tunnel.

In press statement, Delta Corporations announced a four-year package which will see the giant company pump in millions of dollars for the smooth running of soccer activities in the country.

“Delta Beverages is excited to announce the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Sponsorship package for brands Castle Lager and Chibuku Super for the 2021-2023 period. 2021 will be an exciting season for all, with various activities lined up to restart our game in Zimbabwe despite the Covid-19 challenges.

“The total sponsorship package for each season will be USD1,130,000 payable in ZW$ at the bank rate of the day split as follows: Castle Premier Soccer League - USD700, 000, Castle Challenge Cup – USD55,000 and Chibuku Super Cup - USD375,000” reads the statement.

PSL action is expected to return on May 22, 2021, with an 18 team tourney which is likely to be played in different parts of the country.

Local television broadcaster, ZTN has also announced a broadcasting rights deal with PSL, a development that has been received with optimism amongst football fans.
